BSL – WEEK 16 POST GAME ANALYSIS
FETHIYE BELEDIYE VS. PINAR KARSIYAKA
(78 – 86)
Pinar Karsiyaka was clear favorites before the game and they came into this game with a solid game plan which they repeated over and over again, which was creating mismatches for low-post offenses. Ufuk Sarica took advantage of Fethiye’s switching strategy by using a 3rd man at high post area as a passing channel for mismatch on the low block.
Jeffery Morgan dominated the paint in the first half while shooting with 6-7. For Fethiye Brandon Frazier scored 19 points while shooting %50(only had 2 assisted shots while doing so). Frazier converted very tough positions into a basket most of them came from one on one plays. Frazier deserves more adjustments on the offensive end, Fethiye’s coaching staff should work on some set plays to create more ideal positions for Frazier. Abdul Malik Abu had himself a monster game with 25 points while shooting with %91. He dominated the 3rd quarter with 11 points and helped his team to stay in the game. Yunus Sonsirma had himself a solid night with sickening defense on opposition ball handler and taking responsibility when needed.
Fethiye Belediye used full court press and zone defense more often in the 2nd half this helped them to slow down Karsiyaka’s offense yet wasn’t enough because of the damage in the first half. Karsiyaka out rebounded Fethiye by 10 (24-34) and 6 (5-11) of those were offensive rebounds which were converted into second chance points (8-14).

Simple and effective 3-man action from Fethiye. Frazier and Abu plays a high PnR with great spacing on the floor (2 shooter at each corner). Abu makes a quick roll while his man behind him and Atkins completes the triangle with a well-adjusted lob pass. Fethiye should have used this kind of more collective set plays rather than isolation plays while Abu was on another level.
