Tyson Ward signs a 1 year deal with German BBL team s.Oliver Würzburg

We are happy to announce that Tyson Ward whom had a remote scouting session done with our very own Zach Smith has signed a 1 year deal with s.Oliver Würzburg

The initial session and piece in which we introduced Tyson can be seen here:

Former North Dakota State forward, Tyson Ward, has agreed to a one year deal with s.Oliver Würzburg. The Bison alum averaged 16.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists this past season.  He was 2nd in scoring on the team and first in rebounding.  s.Oliver Würzburg has played in the BBL, Germany’s top basketball division, since their promotion in 2015.  The club was in playoff position with an 11-10 record that past season before the stoppage due to Covid-19.

In his 4 years at NDSU, Ward showed solid improvement, increasing his scoring average, shooting percentage, and rebounding average every season.  He was an iron man, not missing a single game in college to injury. In his junior year, he led NDSU to an NCAA tournament berth as a 16 seed.  They would go on to lose to Duke in the first round of the tournament.

The BBL has been home to some significant NBA players recently.  Jordan Crawford, Archie Goodwin, Greg Monroe, and NBA lottery prospect Killian Hayes all played in the BBL this past year.  When asked about the high level of competition in the league, Ward said “[The BBL] is exactly what I’m looking for, a chance to prove I can play at the highest level.”  Ward also spoke about his confidence in building upon s.Oliver Würzburg’s 8th place finish stating “I’m excited to contribute and make the team better.”

We would like to wish Tyson a good season up ahead and hope to keep track of him moving forward.
