The second mid-season move has finally taken place for the 2nd half of the Euroleague and Turkish BSL season.
A familiar face James Nunnally, who had been playing with the Shanghai Sharks for a stretch of about 12 games has agreed to terms with Fenerbahçe Beko. While rumors and reports are coming about that the contract negotiations had been hit hard due to the hefty contract Nunnally was under with the Sharks and CBA’s buyout clause were high the versatile scorer will go through a second stint with the former Euroleague champions.
What does this all mean for Fenerbahçe Beko?
So far both moves of adding Thomas and Nunnally are those that bring impact on both ends of the floor. On the one hand, it’s obvious that due diligence has been a major concern for the staff at Fenerbahçe as they narrowed down these two names before coming up with their decisive moves that will likely make Fenerbahçe even more impactful in the up and coming games.
Thomas has already seen action and its clear that his adjustment period will be very short as he goes through the grind of getting used to the team.
Nunnally already has an affinity and knows the expectations that come along with the role he is taking up. So overall it will likely be a mild period for him to go through.
In the long run towards the end of both the Euroleague and Turkish BSL season; given the recovery of Jan Vesely, these additions and the increase in options rotationally speaking, we might be able to see the most improved Fenerbahçe Beko given the bad start of 6-11 in the Euroleague alone.
The video breakdown (on Nunnally)
Nunnally has been consistent since the last time he was on the Euroleague and Turkish BSL scene back in 2017 – 2018 and he has been working on both offensive and defensive skills in terms of improvement areas.
We recommend that you keep a close eye on the weak hand moves while scoring as well as passing while watching the highlight reel.
