Bas Leyte – From Bergen op Zoom to UNCG

As an U16 player when Bas Leyte left the Netherlands (Giants, CBA Apollo) to pursue his dream. First stop was Spain where he played for CBA where he attracted the attention of New Hampton School in New Hampshire (one of the top notch prep schools that provides great Div.1 talent), where he got the chance to move on to UNCG and a chance to play for the Spartans.

Currently as the 19-20 NCAA season has begun as a freshman Lyte has gotten two games under his belt and doing a solid job.

The 6’10 (2,08) big man has a soft touch from the outside as well as the knack to bang bodies inside the paint and is enough of a defensive threat to deter shots as a shot blocker.
