Ahmet Bugrahan Tuncer – A Next Gen. Point Guard in the making

The ’93 Uyrugu (TR) born 1,98 point guard has shown glimpses of greatness this past season both in the Turkish BSL as well as during Euroleague games Anadolu Efes has played in.

Curious that during 2018 – 2019 season in its entirety he has not averaged a lot of time. In the Euroleague, he’s averaged only 4:24 minutes and in the Turkish BSL he’s 14:02 minutes per game.

When checking our system we figured out that we have data that spans across 297 games that Buğrahan has competed in (ranging from 2011 – 2019)

His stats-line reads as follows across 297 games:

His shot chart across 297 games reads as follows:

Buğrahan has a tremendous upside in terms of court vision as well as being able to calm down the pace of a game at the right time.

By far though his major point of difference actually comes on the defensive end of the court.

Here is a glimpse of Buğrahan on defense overall (courtesy of InStat Basketball):

His real touch on offense comes though from the following:

By far across the BSL given his age and experience, he has a real knack for reading plays well and this comes across in several plays that make him an asset.

On the Offensive end Buğrahan is also extremely unique:

Not only does he have the gift of being able to distribute the ball the most optimal way, but Buğrahan can also find ways to score that space the floor for his teammates.

By far the most critical point guard skill that can separate him from other players is his cuts as well as his catch and shoot selections.

To top everything off  we have done not just one but two comparisons between Buğrahan and other PG in the BSL here they are:

In terms of last season, Buğrahan during the playoff series against Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta had a matchup against Can Korkmaz (which we will make sure to breakdown in coming days) the above comparison chart is testament to Buğrahan’s strengths.

Finally when looking at the totality of the past BSL season even though Berk Uğurlu had been a starting point guard when compared to Buğrahan bare in mind that the decision making in terms of shooting pops up.
